I’m currently studying at Edinburgh University for a PGDE to teach Geography in Secondary schools. In my previous life I’ve worked for over 20 years in the GIS corner of the IT industry ... 17 of those years I was with ESRI; the GIS software company. I was Technical Director of ESRI (UK) from 2000 to 2007. I left ESRI(UK) last year to embark on this new student life and this teaching mularky. I occasionally work at East Lothian Council Outdoor Education where I am an Associate Outdoor Instructor.
So why am I maintaing this blog? Well reflection is a big deal for us proto-teachers … so one of the ways I try to do this is through the blog-o-sphere. My postings will be a mix of my experiences learning to teach, folded into my interest in all-things outdoors, drizzled over with a dressing of IT-geekness and all served on rich creamy base of Geography. Enjoy.
